6.1-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Japan
Tokyo: Earthquake occurred wee hours of today in Japan. The 6.1 Magnitude earthquake was measured on the Richter scale. According to Japan Meteorological Agency (JAMA), the temblor occurred in Oda town with a depth of 35.2 degrees north latitudes and 10 kms between 132.6 degrees east longitude. Few building and roads appeared with cracks.
Due to this earthquake, the power supply wires are damaged and also had a water supply cut. A collapsed torii gate of Karita Shrine is blocking a street in Oda. But the all nuclear power stations in the region were functioning as normal and no tsunami warning was issued.
