India vs Australia, 2nd ODI: Rain looms over second ODI at Eden Gardens
The first ODI between India and Australia in Chennai was considerably affected by rain now situation could very repeat itself in the second ODI at Kolkata at the Eden Gardens. It is predicted to rain for most part of the second ODI.
The practice was canceled for the second day in a row. Australia team is limited to indoor. The two teams that came to Kolkata for the second one-day India-Australia side will be held on Thursday. There was no light on Tuesday, situation remains unchanged on Wednesday which interrupted game practice.
The only good news for the fans is that the sun has shone in the evening. The covers were removed for first time after 48 hours. Sourav Ganguly, the cab chairperson, expressed happiness over arrival of sun. Meteorologists also said about no effect of rain. The sun will shine in the afternoon on Thursday.
After covers were removed, the team coach Ravi Sasthi, captain Virat Kohli and bowling coach Bharat Arun examined the pitch.
Australia’s captain Steve Smith is going to play his 100th one-day match. Smith started with his bowling and fielding in the early days and later became known as the best batsman. Smith scored 477 runs at 20.73 in the first 38 ODIs, and scored 2711 runs at an average of 54.22 in the next 61 ODIs.
