Kerala 15 Year-old-student Jumped From The Building And Dies After Reprimanded By Teachers
A 15-year-old student, named Gauri attempted to suicide from the three-storey building in her school at Kollam district, Kerala on last Friday. The post-mortem of her body is complete. We are awaiting the report. An investigation is on,” SI Nizamuddin of the Kollam West police station.
Gauri studying X class in the Trinity Lyceum school, had jumped from the primary block of the school building during the lunch break on Friday after she was allegedly reprimanded by her teachers. Her younger sister, a student of class 8, also studies in the same school. There are reports that suggested she jumped off after her teachers allegedly scolded her for fighting with her younger sister’s classmate. Her sister studies in Class 8 in the same school. She had reportedly also objected to her younger sister being punished for talking in class and got into an argument with some teachers,
Police said the Girl’s father filed a FIR against on School teachers who mentally harassed her daughter. Gauri was purportedly scolded by two teachers for picking a fight with a fellow student. A case under section 305 of the IPC for abetment of suicide of a child and relevant section of the Juvenile Justice Act has been filed against two teachers of the school. Student organizations in Kollam held protests and clashed with police demanding strict action against the teachers of the school.
