On the other side Impasse on AIADMK ‘Two leaves’ official symbol finally ended. The Central Election Commission has decided to allocate a AIADMK ‘Two leaves’ symbol to the Palani Swami-Pannerselvam team. The party symbol has been restored to the unified AIADMK under Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and his boss in the government E Palaniswami. On Thursday, a simple order was issued by Election commission announcing their decision. V.K.Sasikala team once again shocked with the Election commission decision.
At the time of R.K. Nagar By-election, Palani Swami team, Panneerselvam team and T.T.V. Dinkaran team fought for the AIADMK ‘two-leaves’ symbol. With this E.C. has frozen the symbol temporarily.
After that Palani and Paneerselvam merged their community. The Election Commission, which has been investigating several cases on the issue, finally decided to assign the AIADMK official symbol to Palani-Pannery community in the meeting held on Wednesday.
Sources said the Election Commission has rejected TTV Dhinakaran’s claim saying he “doesn’t enjoy support in the party.” Mr Dhinakaran claims he has the support of 18 lawmakers and many others in the AIADMK.
