Sasikala granted parole to visit ailing husband. Timely boost for Dhinakaran camp?
The parole has been sanctioned for AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, who is being sentenced to imprisonment in the Bangalore jail for having Assets beyond revenue. She was given a 5-day parole to see her husband who was ill. After about eight months, she will be released from jail. Dinakaran, her nephew, has already reached the jail to recieve her in support of Sasikala. According to reports, scores of Sasikala’s supporters gathered outside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru today to catch her glimpse. Sasikala is expected to leave for Chennai with her nephew TTV Dhinakaran in the evening.
Sasikala’s husband Natarajan has been suffering from a brief illness. Recently he had kidney and liver transplant surgery in a private hospital in Chennai. Sasikala applied for granting parole to see her husband. Last Tuesday, the petition was dismissed by the Prison Department as documents submitted by her are incorrect. So, she once again applied for parole with proper documents.
After examining this petition, she was granted conditional parole today. Sasikala has ordered to stay in Chennai and stay in his relatives’ home only. Not to take any political activity at this time and not to make statements to the media.
The Tamil Nadu government laid down rules like, Sasikala be confined to her house and travel only to and fro the hospital.
