Uber London loses licence to operate
The leading cab service company, Uber got a big shock. That they loses their license to Operate in London. Thus decision made about 40,000 drivers future were confused. The London Transport Regulator said the Uber company could not move its cabs in the City of London after September 30 this month. Uber will not be issued a new private hire licence, Transport for London (TfL) has said.
According to Transport for London regulations, ride-hailing app firm was not fit and proper to hold a London private hire operator licence. It said it took the decision on the grounds of “public safety and security implications”.
Uber did not take care of the safety of the passengers, including the backdrop of corporate-style liabilities, and claimed that they did not take any security measures. Uber has the right to appeal the decision. It is possible to apply this appeal within 21 days. However, Uber did not make any statement on the decision taken by the London Transport Authority.
Confirming it would appeal against the decision, Uber said it showed the world “far from being open, London is closed to innovative companies”.
Already there are a lot of concerns from various unions, lawmakers and black people drivers against this agency.
