Virat Kohli lauds PM Narendra Modi over Khelo India initiative
Indian captain Virat Kohli praised the newly launched ‘Khelo India’ program. He also sent a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore in a social media platform.
“This program, which started with Modi and sports minister, is definitely a catalyst for sports in India,” Kohli tweeted. As Central Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore announced a new innovation Khelo India on Twitter.
This program, which has focused on infrastructure so far, is aimed at improvement in all aspects. For the next three years, The central government allocated 1756 crores. Newly Khelo India is launched along with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan, Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme, National Sports Talent Search Programs.
Through this program, 20 universities are selected and will create the highest number of sports persons in our country by funding them. Recently, a plan was planned to help the athletes who are preparing for prestigious sporting events such as the Asian, Commonwealth, Tokyo (2020) Olympics.
Sports Minister Rajya Vardhana Rathore announced on Monday that 152 players were selected under the Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme would be given Rs 50,000 per month.
